Privacy policy

CuePaid is a quoting, invoicing and gig admin app for DJs, musicians and other performers. This policy explains what information CuePaid holds, why, where it is kept, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who we are
CuePaid is run by Jimmy Llama (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2024/337412/07, South Africa. Our Information Officer is James Cassel, reachable at james@djjamessa.com.
Two kinds of information
Your account. When you sign up, CuePaid is responsible for your login email, your business details (name, contact details, address, VAT and registration numbers, logo), your banking details as they print on your invoices, and your settings.
Your clients' information. The clients, jobs, quotes, invoices and payments you capture belong to your business. For that information you are the responsible party, and CuePaid processes it only on your instructions, to run your admin. We never contact your clients, sell their details, or use them for anything else.
What CuePaid collects
- Your login email and a securely hashed password.
- Everything you type or upload into CuePaid: business details, clients, events, quotes, invoices, payments, saved items, your logo.
- Screenshots you choose to read with the Screenshot feature. They are stored privately, read once, and deleted when you save or leave the form, and in any case within 24 hours.
- When a client opens or answers a quote link: the name they type, any note, the time, their IP address and browser type, kept on that job as a record of acceptance.
- If you turn on notifications: a device address from your phone's push service, so we can send you a message when a client accepts or declines.
- Basic technical logs (for example error messages and counts) to keep the service running. We keep no names, numbers or screenshot contents in these logs.
CuePaid uses no advertising, no tracking cookies and no analytics trackers. Your browser stores only what keeps you signed in and any quote you have not finished yet.
Where it is kept, and who helps us run CuePaid
- Supabase hosts the database, logins and private file storage, in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union).
- Netlify serves the app's own files (the screens, not your data) from its global network.
- Anthropic reads screenshots and enquiry text you choose to send, in the United States, and returns the booking details. It is used only when you tap Read it, and under its commercial terms it does not train its models on this data.
- Apple and Google push services carry notifications to your devices, encrypted, if you turn notifications on.
Some of these services are outside South Africa. We use them because they are needed to provide the service you signed up for, and each is bound by data protection law or contract terms that give protection substantially similar to POPIA.
How it is protected
All traffic is encrypted. Each account can only ever see its own records: this is enforced by the database itself, not just the app. Quote links are long random codes stored only in scrambled form. Changing the banking details on your invoices needs your password and is logged.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open. Screenshots go within 24 hours. When you delete your account, everything is removed at once: your data, your files and your login. Our hosting provider's routine backups roll over within 7 days.
Tax law (the Tax Administration Act) expects your business to keep its invoices for five years. That duty is yours, so download your data from Settings before deleting your account.
Your rights
- See and correct your information: it is all in the app, and you can change it any time.
- Take a copy: Settings, Your data, download everything as spreadsheets.
- Delete: Settings, Delete my account. It takes effect immediately.
- Object or ask a question: email our Information Officer at james@djjamessa.com.
- Complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
If your client asks about their information, they can contact you, the performer they booked. If they contact us, we will point them to you.
Age
CuePaid is for businesses and adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Big changes will also be shown in the app.
